How to get the most out of your Wonder Challenges
Wonder Challenges are sacred tools for therapeutic self-expression and communion with your heart. They serve as portals of self-transformation and personal alchemy. Discerning truth from fiction is no easy task, but it is an art form we must all learn. Only God’s wisdom is universal, absolute and transcendent, and it’s our job to seek out and listen to his guidance. Whilst the heart’s truth is not as absolute as God’s, it is a reflection of divine wisdom: the source of our connection to our spirit and God, the universal field of consciousness that connects us all, the heart serves as a bridge between personal experience and the divine. The deeper we can tap into our hearts wisdom, the deeper we can connect spiritually to God. Darkness causes us to wonder. It is a call to reach towards greater truth. An opportunity to step towards greater faith. To humbly acknowledge that whilst we aren’t helpless and powerless, ultimately, we aren’t in control of our lives, God is. And if he isn’t giving you what you want, perhaps it’s because he has something even better planned for you, because God IS love, and you are more loved than you could ever know. And ultimately, life is about learning. And so whilst it’s fun and inevitable that we experience every one of our heart’s desires – of which we are so worthy – sometimes we must learn certain lessons, such as patience and gratitude for what we have, before we receive it. Sometimes the grandest gift is the opportunity to learn how to trust in divine timing. To remember that all we need to do is sing our unique heart’s song so that we can be in sync, in harmonic resonance, with the universal symphony. If you are new to the process of self-inquiry, completing these challenges will most likely challenge you to the core, by stirring up confronting thoughts and feelings. When answering questions, write down whatever first comes to your mind without judging it, trusting that it has a message and purpose, and although it may not be the deepest truth, it can serve as a stepping stone to uncovering deeper layers and shifting blocked energies/outdated ideas/unsupportive beliefs/unexpressed emotions. The willingness to be as honest with yourself as possible, is essential. Admitting that we may have it wrong for many years, or that we’ve been allowing a lie to dictate our life, is not an easy or pleasant pill to swallow, but the truth is what sets us free and enables us to grow. Like with anything, the positive results you experience will match your investment: the more thoroughly you do them, the greater the rewards. Dig deep and when you feel you’ve had enough, put it away and revisit it at a later time. Over time, you will develop new habits and skills in self-awareness, self-discipline and self-transformation, rewrite your personal narratives and rewire the brain with healthier thinking and habits. And this will make you self-confident, knowing that you have the power to change your life with simple consistent action. You will begin to respect and trust yourself for taking responsibility for your personal evolution and stepping up as your own most ultimate coach, healer, teacher and champion. You must embrace yourself a masterpiece, worthy of devotional self-care. And you must embrace the act of reaching out to God in moments of uncertainty, of practicing faith that God is always there to support you. “The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honours the servant and has forgotten the gift." – Einstein The trick to hearing our heart’s wisdom is to calm the mind and allow our intuitive truth and inner knowing to simply arise. For the hearts' wisdom can be like a whisper in comparison to the loud voices of an overactive mind. Something you feel deeply in your belly or heart. Meditation is the ultimate way to hear your heart’s truth, therefore, we recommend doing a short meditation before answering the challenge questions, or revisiting them. If you struggle with meditation then we suggest a walk in nature or yoga, or something that makes you feel grounded in your body, calm and connected. Hot/cold therapy, such as oscillating between a sauna/steam room and cold plunges, can deeply reset and balance the nervous system. It can also a great time to attempt relevant Wonder Challenges when you are feeling intense negative emotion, to give the wounded part of yourself the space to express and feel it all, with self-compassion, as it will help to shift the energy, by feeling and witnessing it. On another note, it’s even more powerful to speak it: we highly recommend allowing yourself to vent to yourself, possibility even with a recorder so you can watch or listen to it at a later time. No matter what, hold yourself in an unconditionally compassionate and loving space when completing Wonder Challenges. This may be difficult at first if this new for you, but with practice it will become more natural, and it will transform your life. Do not judge yourself or your answers/thoughts/personal truth: you are not your thoughts, you are the consciousness experiencing them. Be proud of yourself for having the courage and willingness to ask the questions in the first place, because facing uncomfortable truths is truly the work of the warrior. Truth seekers are brave, for they dare to face the possibility of having their reality shattered, by valuing truth above comfort. If you struggle with being compassionate to yourself, we recommend you get a picture of yourself as a young child, feel the love you have for them and remember: they are still alive, they are you still, and it’s not too late to give them all the love (acceptance, compassion, patience, support, self-care) that they deserve. Indeed, your spiritual evolution depends on it: on you treating yourself with the quality of love you would treat your precious and innocent little inner child. To love yourself the way God loves you: unconditionally. To back yourself no matter what. Stand up for yourself no matter what. Forgive yourself no matter what. Respect yourself no matter what. Celebrate yourself no matter what. To be who you needed when you were younger. In other words, SELF-WORTH. And this will unlock the door to walking with confidence and allowing yourself to follow your heart’s truest wishes, to prioritise what truly lights you up. Celebrate every small win you make along the way towards greater self-love, and don’t forget to praise God for his endless support. The journey of self-realisation is never complete, so have fun along the way and the don’t take it too seriously: who laughs wins. The best way to conquer fear is to laugh… and remember who you are:
Wonder Challenges are also excellent tools for using during and between therapy sessions, but remember, we don’t do therapy because we aren’t good enough exactly as we are, but because we love ourselves so much that we want to see what we are capable of. Because we know that we deserve to experience as much joy as possible. And that the more joy we have in our hearts, the more joy we can share with others.
